Heal Community is a web application designed to support patients recovering from surgery or medical procedures. Focused on wellness, accountability, and social engagement, the platform helps users stay on track with their rehabilitation goals by connecting them with peers on similar recovery journeys.
Key Features
Social Support System: Patients are grouped into recovery cohorts, fostering encouragement, empathy, and shared progress in a private, social media–style environment.
Progress Tracking: Users can set goals, track milestones, and celebrate recovery wins together.
Telehealth Integration: Doctors can schedule and conduct regular virtual check-ins to monitor recovery and adjust care as needed.
Design Goals

Encourage daily engagement through peer support
Ensure ease of use for patients of varying tech experience
Create a calming, uplifting visual language aligned with wellness
Wireframes
The client came to the project with a clear vision and specific requirements. I began by sketching initial wireframes and used them to create a walkthrough experience—presenting the designs from a user’s perspective in a prototype-like format. This approach helped the client better visualize the final product, encouraged early buy-in, and provided an opportunity to gather additional requirements and feedback before moving into high-fidelity design.
Outcome
Early feedback from target users highlighted the app’s intuitive interface and the motivating power of peer engagement during recovery. The client expressed high confidence in the direction of the product after seeing the functional prototypes and user insights. As a result of the structured design process and research-informed decisions, the project moved forward with strong stakeholder alignment and a clear development roadmap. The application is on track to meet both clinical support and patient engagement goals.
